Fascinated by the timeless design , designer Jaume Ramrez is interested in the archetypal table lamp in which a shade diffuses light in all directions. This is the starting point from which he reflects and experiments to propose a new design in glass, with clean plus shapes. The Fragile lamp is a blend of geometric shapes. A cone and a sphere are arranged to contain a cylinder that emits ambient light from below.

In its form, we find vestiges of the past; in its material, we find emotion. The glass not only reveals the source of light; it also speaks of purity, lightness and the way in which this design fits into its environment. Its structure seems to stand up effortlessly, a very serious feat in which everything is in full view. The cylinder shades its warm, diffuse and progressive light.

A fragile synthesis of past and present. It recalls elements of the past such as oil lamps, which also light from the bottom up, or candles; however, its designer uses the language of glass to express the fragility of the present moment. That’s why this new design is a tribute to la table lamp. A luminaire with a long history which, with the application of a material like glass, surprises us once again plus with the delicacy of its forms.
